Dr. Kenneth Newman
Dr. Newman graduated from Purdue University in 1979. He has been practicing Veterinary Medicine in Pinellas County for over 33 years. His interests include:
• preventive medicine
• dental care
• geriatric care
• internal medicine
• laser therapy
Dr. Newman worked in a large referral practice in Chicago for two years after graduation. He moved to Birmingham, Alabama, and for two years conducted studies on the pharmacology of new anti-cancer and anti-convulsant drugs at the world renowned Southern Research Institute. Prior to establishing his own practice, he managed an emergency clinic for animals in St. Petersburg for two years. Dr. Newman brings 36 years of experience in many aspects of veterinary medicine to Care Animal Hospital of Seminole.
Dr. Newman is married to his wife of 30 years, Heidi. The Newman's have one son, Dylan, who is 23, 3 Labrador Retrievers, Sunshine, Hannah, and Libby, a Longhaired Chihuahua, Macho, and a cat named Arthur.
Dr. Newman's spare time is spent fishing with his son on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico, or relaxing in the backyard with his dogs.
In July 2010, Dr. Newman published his memoir, Meet Me at the Rainbow Bridge, emphasizing the important role that dogs have played in his life. He is currently lobbying for Gracie's Law in Florida, to elevate our pets above the legal status of property.
